Summer Offerings

Admin Law in Public Admin - 50806 - POLI 580 - 001 (1 credit)

This course focuses on administrative law and legal issues as applied to human resources. Participants will learn about best practices for human resources management.

Classes are held on Saturdays - June 20 and June 27 – on the BSU campus from 9am to 2pm.

Strategies for Org Assessment - 50805 - POLI 595 - 001

This course offers basic tools for managing evaluation and assessment of organizations and organizational projects. Implications for accreditation and organizational growth will be discussed. Classes are held on Saturdays – July 11 and July 25 – on the BSU campus from 9am to 2pm.

Fall Offerings

Introduction to CPM - 50804 - POLI 581 - 001

This course in the CPM program introduces key concepts, themes, and theories in public service delivery. This foundational course provides students with an overview of topics offered in our program, identifies key learning objectives, and goals, and prepares students for service projects and other deliverables in the program.

Classes are held on Saturdays – September 12 and September 19 - on the Cape Cod campus from 9am to 2pm.

Change Management - 93486 - POLI 582 - 001

This course focuses on innovation and growth in leadership positions. The course addresses communication of vision, collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, and preparing for opportunities, challenges, and risks in leadership positions.

Classes are held on Saturdays – September 12 and September 26 – on the BSU campus from 9am to 2pm.

Confl Res & Neg in Public Mgmt - 93487 - POLI 583 - 001

This course focuses on conflict resolution, negotiation, and mediation approaches and their application in a public or non-profit agency setting. It provides skill building on meeting management, facilitation of decision making, and citizen inclusion in organizations, building on the student’s knowledge, experience, and style preferences as a leader.

Classes are held on Saturdays – September 19 and October 3 – on the BSU campus from 9am to 2pm.

Leading Sustainable Orgs - 93488 - POLI 587 - 001

This course provides leaders with the tools to lead through effective and efficient integration of social, economic, and social sustainability tenets. The course offers practical methods to improve organizations through systems and management approaches and offers solutions for leading for future changes in the work and community environments.

Classes are held on Saturdays – October 10 and October 24 – on the BSU campus from 9am to 2pm.

Understand Promote Ethical Beh - 93485 - POLI 589 - FX1

This course exposes students to key ethical issues and concepts in public administration and provides guidance on how to build organization with a strong ethical foundation through leadership. Students will have the opportunity to practice decision making skills and to discuss critical issues in public service ethics today.

Classes are held on Saturdays – October 3 and October 10 – on the Cape Cod campus from 9am to 2pm.

Budgeting in Public & NP Org - 93517 - POLI 597 - FX1

This course introduces participants to key concepts in public and nonprofit budgeting processes and concepts. It allows participants to evaluate their own organizational budgeting processes and to design potential improvements.

Classes are held on Saturdays – October 3 and October 17 – on the Cape Cod campus from 9am to 2pm.
